Charles Feng, DiDi Mobility Innovation Center

Charles is Director of Product Strategy and Vehicle Design who leads the Mobility Innovation Center team at DiDi, and responsible for global strategy planning and product design of DiDi customised cars. MIC is DiDi’s innovative organization that focuses on future vehicle designs. Moreover, it’s dedicated to design future shared vehicles to develop shared mobility vehicles.

Charles graduated from Department of Automotive Engineering, Tsinghua University and then majored in Transportation Design at the Art Center College of Design, USA. As a talented and innovative designer, Charles began his career in Toyota’s North America design studio, Calty Design Research, Inc. He worked on some remarkable models such as Toyota Camry, Toyota FT-86, Toyota Avalon, Toyota Seinna, and a Lexus concept car.

Charles is also an instructor for the Transportation Design programme at the College for Creative Studies (CCS), coaching excellent young designers for the global industry.

From a mechanical engineer to a car designer, then to a director of product exploring future transportation ideas and new vehicles, Charles has never stopped making breakthroughs and innovations. He is devoted to cutting-edge design, research and development, and building a better journey using technology when the automotive industry is developing into a smarter, more sharable, more eco-friendly direction.
